NEGLEY RUN HEADQUARTERS (w. Nicolas Gomez)
This project featured two primary focuses: water collection/storm water mitigation and Negley Run Water Group headquarters program. In this landscape studio, we were tasked with designing sustainable storm water management solutions on a site that historically featured a small lake and consistently floods and inundates the combined sewers and Allegheny River. Program for the headquarters included office, gathering, public use, and educational spaces, as well an on-site hostel and parking.
Our project was an experiment with Voronoi cells to create a geometric fabric across the site that would allow us to "plug in" program elements such as the headquarters building, hostel, parking, park, and water mitigation strategies. Each of these components had a separate grid of varying size depending on programmatic needs and location on the site. This allowed us a certain flexibility to adapt the grid to our needs across the site.
